Today a dear friend of mine sent me the Daily Om post that was absolutely perfect for what is happening in my life right now:
Moving on can be defined in numerous ways. Your forward momentum may take you from your current locale to a place you instinctively know will be more nurturing, comfortable, and spiritually enriching. Once you arrive, your misgivings will vanish, and you will know that you have found a sanctuary. Similarly, subtle changes in your values, goals, or emotional needs can motivate you to distance yourself from one group of people
in order to re-associate yourself with individuals that are better able to support you. For example, this could mean moving away from your birth family in order to find your energetic or spiritual family. The route you need to travel may not always be clear; you may feel inspired to change yet be unsure as to why or how. Clarity may come in the form of a question if you are willing to seriously ask yourself where your soul is trying to take you.
In a way, moving from one point to another when you feel strongly driven to do so is a way of bringing your spiritual and earthly energies together. It is a two-step process that involves not only letting go but also reconnecting. You will know you have found your destination, physical or otherwise, when you feel in your heart that you have been reborn into a life that is just the right shape, size, and composition.(image courtesy of the Daily Om)
It's so true, the minute I decided to leave Los Angeles, amazing things started happening deep inside me. I started sleeping better. I started breathing easier, I feel less stressed (even though I have this HUGE move ahead of me!) and I feel grateful again. I have been afraid these last few years because my gratitude, which has always kept my head above water, seemed to be waning.
I just think it's time for me to breathe the Atlantic air again. That is my truest home.
So, here are a few issues that I am going to ask for help (I have really appreciated the emails and comments that people have left for me so far about my move!)
1. if I decide to drive across, does anyone have any ideas for a way to get my cat to Boston? I am thinking of seeing if I can pay someone who is going that way anyway by plane, or maybe check with the airlines to see if my friend can put her on the plane if I meet her on the other side. This is a quandary for sure!
2. Any ideas for sending bulky items across? Another friend suggested that I see if anyone who is driving a van across has extra room. This may feel a bit scary to me, as I wouldn't know the person and they would not be insured/bonded to take my stuff. I don't have much, but they are big: mattress and box spring (almost new), 2 file cabinets (also almost new) and a massage table.
thanks in advance!
