From time to time, I get a spontaneous email from a former client catching me up on how they are doing since we worked together. One such email came in today and I asked her if I could post it on the blog so that you could see that there is hope for you, even if you are feeling stuck and anxious and overwhelmed---you can shift and transform and FLY! It can happen to you!
Hi Jessica~
Was just reading your great blog and the "10 Reasons" for decluttering--excellent reminders! I especially like the one on making decisions, which I have been busy doing--Thanks!Wanted to let you know what progress I have made/am making since our meeting together:1. Bought a "new" (used) Hybrid SUV--with plenty of room to transport my "fat cats" to Portland2. Gave my manager 30-day (+) notice of my move--which I'm planning by April 15th - 30th (I've been in touch with several apartment buildings in Portland about April availabilities, etc.3. Received a raise at work and asked for 2x as much! I ended up getting almost what I asked for ($5,000/yr.)--yeah!!!4. Sent out my resume and have had several phone interviews--although my L.A. salary appears to be "out of range" for Portland, I'm just going to GO FOR IT and plan the move, and expect the Universe to bring GREAT OPPORTUNITIES and ABUNDANCE into my life. I'm already feeling more and more UNstuck, with every passing decision and action toward the positive (although sometimes scary and unknown...) It's going to be an EXCITING ADVENTURE!!! Full of surprises, I'm sure...5. Hired a housekeeper for one session--although I was somewhat disappointed in the end result (including the fact that she vacuumed my entire apartment with the bag NOT properly attached--yuk!), it was just another step to keep me moving in the right direction, inspire me to continue on and keep cleaning out the "stuff." (Every once in awhile, I take a good long whiff of the "RELEASE" [oil] you left for me--thank you again!)6. Have taken a few more boxes and bins over to my storage unit to get the moving process started early and clear out more space at home. Today I'm calling back the movers I spoke to earlier to make appointments for an "in-home estimate"...I'm really feeling like this is the right decision for me and is going to get a lot of good ENERGY flowing into my life...I have felt "dead" and stagnant for so-o-o-o long, but am ready to start "living" again and having some FUN...7. You were right about men coming into my life, too--when I bought my car, the salesman took me out to dinner and there was some definite mutual attraction...unfortunately, that flame burnt out real fast (it's true what they say about "used car salesmen" :o) but at least it let me know "I've still got it" at age 50--and am looking forward to that next "right" relationship! The momentum just keeps building!!!Thank you again, Jessica, for the time we spent together, for your words of wisdom and encouragement and for "getting me started" OUT of my rut and INTO a better way of being. I'm going to try to get through this move "on my own"...but if I get stuck, I'll give you a call.:o) KB
Thank you, KB, for letting me be part of your journey! I know you are ready to go, I can hear it in your "voice". When we first started working, you had a heaviness about you that was laden with grief and anxiety. Getting rid of those letters and cards from old boyfriends and family members was difficult, I know it was painful to let go, but the lightness and freedom that came as a result made it worth every minute of your valiant and courageous struggle. Good for you! You deserve to feel great! By the way, I woke up this morning with the thought that "when it's ok to stay somewhere, then it's ok to go". Bon Voyage dear one!
the folks I work with and I came up with the analogy of an 'emotional cheerleader'. ¸.·´ .·´¨¨))
